Strong Communities Advisory Committee Reviews Program Updates and Budgets
The Strong Communities Advisory Committee received program updates from Public Works and Community Services. Public Works discussed ongoing capital improvement projects including the Oak Park Aquatics Renovation Project, the community center public address system installation, and the central library renovation project. They also provided updates on the Brookings pool emergency repair and Maya Angelou library carpet replacement. Community Services shared updates on staffing, including the hiring of a marketing position and a new director for the department, as well as the progress of the community needs assessment and signage initiatives. Program updates included the summer reading program, summer camps, and the opening of multiple pools. Project Toolbox for teens and youth sports were highlighted as successful programs. The committee also reviewed fiscal year 25-26 revenues and expenditures for the Strong Communities program and discussed the proposed budget for fiscal year 26-27.
