Plymouth Select Board Discusses Economic Development Strategies and Key Initiatives

The Plymouth Select Board held a workshop to discuss economic development strategies, building upon the recently approved comprehensive plan. Assistant Town Manager Lauren Lind presented a draft strategy document based on a SWOT analysis, the comprehensive plan's economy section, and community feedback. The discussion focused on key initiatives including modernizing zoning bylaws, establishing a business development concierge, launching a business recruitment and retention strategy, updating the harbor plan, developing a coordinated workforce initiative, and supporting year-round tourism and cultural investments. Potential partners and necessary staff resources were also identified. The board aims to move forward with these strategies to foster long-term fiscal sustainability and economic growth for Plymouth. The strategy document will be formally ratified and presented to the community, with potential joint meetings involving the Planning Board and the Plymouth Foundation planned.
