Dwayne Samson Appointed Town Moderator

Watershed Permit Grant Expires; Town Faces New Grant Strategy

Pan Mass Challenge Route Modified for 2026 Event Amid Construction
The Select Board discussed and approved changes to the previously approved Pan Mass Challenge event route for August 1st and 2nd, 2026. The primary change involves rerouting cyclists to take a right onto Tower Lane before the gym parking lot and then a left onto Buccaneer Way or Tower Lane, to avoid ongoing construction. Shuttle routes were also adjusted accordingly. The board supported the amendment with the condition that property owners on Tower Lane be notified via reverse 911 or a letter about the temporary road closure.
Harold Skelton Appointed to Veterans Community Building Board of Trustees
Harold "Hal" Francis Skelton III was appointed as a trustee for the Bourne Veterans Community Building. The appointment fills a vacancy left after the annual May election, with Skelton volunteering to serve until May 18th, 2027. Skelton, an Iraqi veteran and founder of 'Fishing for the Mission,' expressed his commitment to serving the veteran community and giving back to Bourne. The board conducted a roll call vote, resulting in unanimous approval.
Select Board Voices Concerns Over Sagamore Bridge Replacement Traffic Plan Ahead of Public Hearing
The Select Board held a discussion regarding select board comments in advance of the July 23rd design public hearing for the Sagamore Bridge replacement project. Board members expressed disappointment with the presented traffic management plan, feeling that previous concerns had not been adequately addressed.
