Fairhaven Project Progresses Through Land Ownership and Right-of-Way Resolution
The Planning Commission received an update on the Fairhaven project, focusing on the process to incorporate land currently designated as right-of-way for Ridge Road into the Fairhaven property. This involves a quiet title action to establish ownership of the former state right-of-way, believed to have been transferred to the town of Highland in 1965. Once ownership is confirmed for the town, a portion can be deeded to Fairhaven, and the remaining right-of-way can be vacated. This process is necessary to finalize the Fairhaven subdivision plat and allow for the approval of the development, which has not changed since its initial presentation. The quiet title action is underway, with public notices running and a judicial deed expected in early July, contingent on no objections. The alleyway adjacent to the property also requires vacation, a process expected to be quicker and not require court procedures, but rather town council approval. Once these steps are complete, Fairhaven can present the finalized subdivision plat for approval.
