Welcome Pastures PUD Amended to Allow Private Events

The Town Council amended the existing PUD zoning for the Welcome Pastures property to permit private events such as weddings, family gatherings, retreats, and corporate events for fundraising. The revenue generated will support the care and rehabilitation of retired thoroughbred horses. The amendment included specific conditions regarding event types, seasons, frequency, attendance capacities, noise levels, lighting, site standards, and conditions precedent to approvals and permits, such as fire department, police department, and health department approvals. The barn use was removed from the plan, and events held under a temporary tent structure are limited to 150 attendees and only between April and October, with outdoor events now permitted through the last weekend of November. Indoor events within the residence are limited to 50 attendees and permitted year-round on weekends, capped at 20 events. A sunset clause was discussed but ultimately not included in the final amendment, which was incorporated into the general development plan and travels with the land.
