The Civil Service Commission approved the consent calendar, which included the minutes from the May 6, 2026 meeting and an extension of eligible lists for Forensic Specialist, Transit Operations Supervisor, and Fleet Services Technician. Subsequently, the commission moved to an action item to approve a new recruitment bulletin for the Urban Forester position in the Public Works Department. The Urban Forester is responsible for tree inspection, hazard identification, maintenance recommendations, pesticide application, and maintaining the city's urban forest database.
Civil Service Commission Approves Accomplishments Report and Authorizes Transmission to City Council
The Civil Service Commission discussed and approved a draft written report detailing their accomplishments and goals for 2026-2027, and authorized its transmittal to the City Council. This report is part of a broader requirement for all commissions, boards, and committees to submit reports by July 29, 2026. The commission had previously requested a more narrative format for these reports, which staff has incorporated, along with proposed goals for the remainder of the year, including the review of civil service rules.
