Upper Sinclair School Board Reviews April Financials, Approves Budget Transfers and Grant Amendment
The Upper Sinclair School Board reviewed the financial summary for the period ending April 30th, 2026. Investment income and federal funds rates were noted as down compared to the previous year, with state revenue also lagging. However, meal revenue in the food service fund was up approximately 12% due to increased sales volume. Funds in the capital reserve were spent, and the construction fund is expected to be depleted by summer. Budget transfers and the bill list were presented for approval. The board also ratified an amendment to a public facilities grant resolution, increasing the project amount to $4,571,831 for converting Streams from electric to gas, and approved the recognition of the district flag football team booster group. Upper Sinclair School Board Approves Collective Bargaining Agreement, Staffing Changes, and Renewals
The Upper Sinclair School Board approved a 5-year collective bargaining agreement with the Upper Sinclair Education Support Professional Association, representing bus drivers and attendants. The agreement will commence on July 1st, 2026, and conclude on June 30th, 2031. Additionally, the board approved salary adjustments and compensation for non-represented employees, supervisors, and administrators, consistent with existing compensation plans and employment agreements. Several staffing resolutions were also approved, including changes in titles and positions due to restructuring, and the filling of 10 open positions within the district. The board also approved agreements for independent contractors for the marching band season and renewals for various software subscriptions.
