Health Expo to Offer Free Screenings and Services, Aims to Address Healthcare Gaps
Patricia Yates Ran of Yates Healthcare Consulting presented plans for a health expo in Tiffan County, aiming to bring free health services to the community. The event, planned for two and a half years, will feature Morehouse School of Medicine students and 30 other vendors, offering services such as prostate cancer screening (free), colon cancer screening (billed to insurance), and hearing tests via a mobile clinic. A biometric screening (4-6 blood panel) will also be available, with the cost covered by a health initiative, although transportation to a Quest Lab in Albany may be required. Yates Healthcare Consulting also offers funds to organizations and churches to host health events, with the primary requirement being a need and desire to help others. The goal is to make this an annual event and address the need for accessible healthcare, especially with hospital closures in rural areas.
