City Adopts GDOT Procurement Policy for TAP Grant Sidewalk Projects
The City Commission discussed and approved the adoption of the GDOT procurement policy for the local administered plan process. Alcoholic Beverage License for Magnolia Cafe and Tea Room Carried Forward

Seymour Project Contract Amendment Approved for Hangar Repairs
The Commission reviewed and approved contract amendment number 10 for the Seymour project, specifically for World War II hangar number two and hangar number three. The amendment, under the joint venture of Harper and Harper Company and Lewis Construction, is for $994,289. This amendment addresses damages incurred from Hurricane Helene and subsequent repairs.
City Renews Technical Assistance Agreement with South Georgia Regional Commission
The City Commission reviewed and approved the renewal of a technical assistance services agreement with the South Georgia Regional Commission. This agreement, effective from July 1, 2024, through December 31, 2029, provides assistance in areas such as planning and zoning, code enforcement, ordinances, and drafting master plans. The city budgets approximately $8,000 annually for this service, though actual usage is typically less.
Airport Runway Maintenance Project Awarded to Highlight Airfield Services
The City Commission reviewed the award of a contract for the Douglas Municipal Airport runway crack seal and remarking project. The low bid of $239,897 was awarded to Highlight Airfield Services. Funding will be a combination of GDOT funds ($179,000) and city splash funds ($59,974.25).
