Sisters Meadow Subdivision Rezoning Approved: Conservancy, Single/Two-Family, and Multi-Family Districts Established
A resolution was approved to rezone portions of an unaddressed parcel bounded by Maria Drive. Remnant lot one is proposed to be rezoned to the C conservancy district. Lots three through eight and out one are proposed to be rezoned R3 single and two family residence district. Lots one and two are proposed to be rezoned to R4 multiple family one residential district. Alderperson Olsson raised concerns about R3 potentially being spot zoning and not leading to affordable housing, noting similar issues in other areas. Director Kivala confirmed staff's recommendation for R3 zoning, citing the need for flexibility and the potential to accommodate both single and two-family dwellings, while acknowledging site constraints and the possibility of future Planned Development (PD) approval for specific exceptions.
RFP Issued for Design Services for Downtown Library's City-Owned Location
The Council approved the issuance of a request for proposals (RFP) for professional design services related to the Portage County's downtown library's downtown location. It was noted that the library is a county function but housed in a city-owned building. Alder Guff asked how this fit with broader city facility studies, and Director Bedun clarified that the library RFP was specific to pointed concerns, while a citywide RFP would be broader. The motion was moved by Ke, seconded by Guthrie.
Site Plan Review Approved for Construction on Lots One and Two of Sisters Meadow Subdivision
A site plan review was approved for the construction of buildings, parking lots, and other site improvements on Lots one and two of the proposed Sisters Meadow subdivision plat. The approval is consistent with chapter 23.02 sub4.
