Dakota's Southlake Mixed-Use Development Site Plan Approved by Planning and Zoning Commission
The Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed and approved a site plan for Dakota's Southlake, a mixed-use development located at 1901 West Kirkwood Boulevard. The project, currently zoned SP2, involves modifications to the original site plan, including updated retail building elevations and renderings, minor adjustments to the event hall roofline and facade, and parking reconfigurations. The total parking count remains 205 spaces. The applicant, Tim McInoney, discussed the challenges of the site's 35-foot grade elevation and the extensive concrete work required, including a 480-foot retaining wall. The development will feature a unique event space and retail buildings designed with lighter brick tones and wood treatments. Phase one includes the restaurant and parking, with the event space to follow shortly after. The commission approved the site plan, ZA 26-0031, with a 6-0 vote, and it will proceed to the City Council on August 4th.
