Stephen Hvansik and Associates to Provide Construction Administration for Miles Road Water Line Project

Legislation was requested to authorize the city to enter into a contract with Stephen Hvansik and Associates for construction administration services for the Miles Road Waterline Replacement Project. The cost for these services is $35,360 and is budgeted within the 2026 infrastructure budget. This waiver of qualification-based procurement is recommended due to the agreement with the Village of Orange for the transfer of the waterline.

The sewer usage rates for the City of Solon will remain unchanged for 2026 and 2027. The Finance Director and Sewer Department reviewed the rates, and current financials are sufficient, with no major projects necessitating an increase. The rates have not been raised since 2012. Amendments to the ordinance will be made to reflect the current rates, including $41.37 for sewer use and $31.02 for homestead rates.

Sewer Division Completes Storm Sewer Replacement and Catch Basin Installation Projects

The Sewer Division reported the completion of two projects under the new contract: replacement of 100 feet of storm sewer on Aspen Glen and installation of two new catch basins on Ports Parkway at the community park lot. Final invoices are pending.
