Phase Two Lead Line Replacement Project Underway; Residents Urged to Sign Up
Letters were sent out for phase two of the lead line replacement project. Residents who received the letter are urged to contact Stiff Brothers or Robinson to sign up early. The village engineer's office can be reached at 815-412-2019 for inquiries.
Streetscaping Project Finalization and Funding Search Underway
The streetscaping project is nearing completion. A meeting with the streetscaping committee is scheduled between now and mid-August to finalize the plan. Following this, the plan will be presented to the board for review and voting. Subsequently, the village will seek funding to implement the finalized streetscaping plan.
Village Approves Two Block Party Permit Requests for July
The village received two block party permit requests. The first is for July 19th from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the 1405th block of Trip. The second is for July 24th from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the 145th Court block. Both requests were signed by three residents and were approved by the Deputy Clerk.
Midlothian Police Department Awarded $27,000 Organized Crime Grant
The Midlothian Police Department has been awarded a $27,000 organized crime grant for fiscal year 2027, running from July 1st, 2026, to June 30th, 2027. Sergeant Covey applied for this grant through the village's relationship with CERT. The funds will be utilized to acquire equipment aimed at combating retail crime within the community.
Village Newsletter Nearing Completion, Residents Encouraged to Sign Up
The village newsletter is in its final stages of preparation and is expected to enter the editing process early the following week. Residents are encouraged to sign up for the newsletter on the village website to receive valuable information from all departments and the board.
