It is anticipated that 100 to 200 delinquencies will be paid before the list is finalized for the county. City to Apply for $697,500 Grant to Enhance Response to Violent Crimes
The Marysville City Council authorized the city manager to submit a grant application for the Marysville Integrated Justice Response Initiative. The grant, from the Bureau of Justice Assistance under the fiscal year 2026 Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women program, seeks $697,500 to improve the criminal justice response to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. The funds will be used to implement a new computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and records management system (RMS) for the police department, enabling direct information sharing with regional agencies. The project also includes a dedicated detective to focus on these cases and provide dating violence education to students in collaboration with the local school district. There is no local match requirement for this grant, and it covers a 36-month performance period, funding an existing detective position.
