Board Approves Boiler Replacement, Water Main Study, and Reviews Bids for Multiple Infrastructure Projects

The board reviewed bids for the Columbian Park Ramp Neighborhood Ramp Project. Three bids were received: Dixon Construction for $283,200, Edward and Jones Concrete for $161,100, and Reith Riley for $197,320. The bids were taken under advisement. Additionally, a recommendation for award was made to DA Dodd for a boiler replacement at Lafayette Renew for $148,900. A contract and notice to proceed for this boiler project were also approved. Separately, an on-call services agreement with BFNS was approved, along with Task Order One for $47,000 to evaluate a potential large diameter water transmission main from the Glick well field area to the city's upper pressure water system. The study is expected to take approximately 75 days. Lastly, a bid tabulation and evaluation for the lead service line replacement phase two project, with a contract price of $14,959,865, was presented. Atlas Excavating submitted the single bid. The city will use $5 million in grant money and $5 million in a zero-interest loan from the Indiana State Revolving Fund for the project. The bid will remain under advisement until June 18th.
