Commission Approves Engineering Services for Underpass Road Improvements and KDOT Agreement for Highway Intersection Upgrade

The commission approved an agreement for professional engineering services related to improvements on Underpass Road, as part of the Trail Street construction project. This agreement will compensate a company to design improvements to the drainage system on Underpass Road. The commission also approved an agreement with the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) for improvements at the intersection of Highway 57 and 14th Avenue. This agreement confirms the city's acceptance of the project, which will be a collaboration with KDOT.

The Mayor proclaimed July 25th as National Day of the Cowboy, coinciding with the Beard and Mustache Competition organized by the City's Convention and Visitors Bureau, set to begin in the afternoon. A citizen addressed the commission regarding the Flock camera system during the public comment section.

Commission Extends Due Diligence for Marshall Hotel Development, Approves Business Park and Residential Subdivision Maps

The commission extended the due diligence period for the New West Developments development agreement, which is responsible for the development of the Marshall Hotel. The resolution was approved by a vote of four in favor and zero opposed. The final map for Dot City Business Park Unit Two was presented and approved. This map organizes previously recorded lots and rights-of-way to facilitate future development. The final map for Iron Flats Phase One was also presented and approved, which includes the creation of 20 single-family lots as part of the ongoing development of this subdivision. Additionally, a consultancy services agreement for Iron Flats Phase Two was approved, allowing the city to provide necessary planning and infrastructure plans for this 22-lot residential development.
