Belfont Borough Reviews Draft Five-Year Capital Improvement Program

Belfont Borough Council held a work session to review the draft Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for the upcoming five-year period, covering fiscal years 2027-2031. The program outlines anticipated expenditures for various departments including Police, Office of Community Affairs, Administration, and staffing. The CIP is a planning tool and does not authorize immediate expenditure of funds, which are handled through the annual operating budget. The council was presented with requests ranging from vehicle and technology upgrades for the police department to software updates for community affairs and administrative departments. Staffing requests, particularly new additions to the complement, were also included. The process involves two work sessions for council feedback, followed by adoption by the council and review by the Belfont Borough Authority for water and wastewater components. Inflationary factors have been included in cost estimations.
