Bsentennial Park Reopens After Extensive Flood Mitigation and Improvement Project

The Bsentennial Park project, which has been a long time coming, recently had a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The park, which was never officially named but existed for many years, experienced persistent flooding issues. A committee was formed years ago to address these problems, leading to the park being raised by 2 feet and incorporating an exfiltration system for water seepage, retention areas, and improved drainage. This project was funded by state grants.

Brooks Webb Appointed New Public Works Director for Cocoa Beach

Brooks Webb has been introduced as the new Public Works Director. He brings over 30 years of experience in public works, infrastructure management, and municipal operations, having previously served as the Public Works Director for the City of Laramie, Wyoming. In Laramie, he managed a department of 85 employees overseeing engineering, streets, fleet, storm water, GIS, solid waste, and wastewater utilities, and managed capital improvement programs and infrastructure projects.
