StanRTA Proposes Transit Route Refinements, Hub-and-Spoke Model Shift, and New Series Headquarters
The Stanislaus Regional Transit Authority (StanRTA) presented an update on its short-range transit plan, including proposed changes to bus routes. The plan aims to refine existing routes, address a funding reduction, and optimize service. Key proposals include shorter routes that connect to satellite hubs, such as the Series Walmart, to improve system flow and efficiency. While most Series services will remain unchanged, the plan involves minor realignments and the proposed integration of the Route 10 express service between Modesto and Turlock into Series. One specific service reduction mentioned is the connectivity from West Modesto on Route 47, which will be eliminated as ridership did not materialize as expected. The plan also addresses paratransit service, proposing to keep it largely unchanged within Series limits and maintain service for current users. The public participation phase is ongoing, with final route changes to be implemented next year. StanRTA is also planning a new headquarters facility in Series, expected to be completed by Fall 2029.
