Public Safety Training and Firefighter/Police Camp Announced; Two Lieutenants to Retire

Chief Bryce Lovell announced upcoming public safety events. A public 'grace' training session on civilian response to an active shooter event is scheduled for June 17th at 6 p.m. in the multi-purpose room. Additionally, Camp Fury, an event for high school-aged girls to gain experience in fire and police professions, will be hosted at the St. Louis County Police Academy the week of June 15th-19th, with a Bridgeton instructor teaching the police portion. Chief Lovell also announced that Lieutenants Dan Martin and Kevin Linhart intend to retire on June 27th, which will reduce the patrol division staffing.

Roy Swatner Honored for 50 Years of Service with Kiwanis Club

The City Council recognized Roy Swatner for his 50th anniversary as a member of the Kiwanis Club of Bridgeton, Missouri. A proclamation was read, detailing his birth in Oklahoma, graduation from St. Thomas Aquinas High School, marriage to Nancy, family, involvement in Holy Spirit Catholic Church, ownership of Westlake Motor Company, career in automotive industry, and leadership roles in automotive organizations. The proclamation highlighted his loyal and devoted membership in the Kiwanis Club, including service in officer positions and participation in fundraising and service projects.
