City Council Formally Withdraws Data Center Application from Land Management Process
The city council addressed the withdrawal of the Townsite Solar 2 (TS2) application to add data center uses to the Land Management Process (LMP) list for an 88.5-acre parcel. The planning commission had previously recommended against adding data center uses to the LMP list for this site by a 6-1 vote. The council voted unanimously to formally withdraw LMP 2603 and not add data center uses to the LMP list for this site. Additionally, the council voted unanimously to remove two other parcels from the LMP list: LMP 2203 (Elite RV park) and LMP 2204 (grocery store site), as these proposals did not move forward within the designated timeframe or were rejected by voters.
City Council Denies Variance for Six-Foot Front Yard Fence at 701 Avenue I
The city council heard testimony and deliberated on a variance request to allow a six-foot fence in the front yard of a corner property at 701 Avenue I, which under current city code has a maximum allowed height of four feet for front yard fences.
