Assistant City Manager and City Secretary Complete Certified Public Manager Program
Assistant City Manager Jennifer Rogers and City Secretary Acacia Redden have completed the 18-month Certified Public Manager (CPM) program through Texas State. They will be eligible to graduate on June 8th in Austin. The program involved seven tracks and 14 areas of study in general and executive government management, culminating in a capstone paper.
City Council Approves Consent Agenda Unanimously
Council unanimously approved the consent agenda, which included items 8A through 8B. No items were removed for separate discussion. The consent agenda passed as written.
New Public Safety Officer Introduced to City Council
Officer Quinn Huntington was introduced as the new public safety officer for the city. He graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor's of Science in Education, completed police academy and FTO training, and will be attending the fire academy in July. He has a strong moral compass and ethical strength, and aims to serve the community for decades to come.
Water Tank Restored, Roadwork Continues, Splash Pad to Open Early
The Tater Hill water tank has passed its final bacteria test and is back in service. The micro seal bid was awarded to Viking, though slightly over budget, and negotiations are underway for the final scope. DeGuerra laid 55 feet of line, and a bypass pump relocation is scheduled after Memorial Day weekend to address blockages on the frontage road of Highway 84. The splash pad is set to open on Friday.
Woodway Youth Commission and Graduating Seniors Recognized
Members of the Woodway Youth Commission and graduating seniors were recognized. Stephanie Starks, a graduating senior from Midware High School, was highlighted and plans to attend Baylor University. Youth Commission members were acknowledged for their role in organizing community events and contributing volunteer hours.
