Speaker Alleges Racism, Tyranny, and False Arrests; Threatens Protest
A speaker, identified as being from NYPD and potentially related to the Shawn Bell case, expressed frustration and anger, stating they were tired of the town's tyranny and racism. They stated that only Sue and Glenn were respected on the board. They threatened protests and action from the National Action Network. The speaker claimed to be targeted and falsely arrested three times in Vestal due to their success (driving a Corvette, working in mental health), accusing Judge Sherwood of being taken advantage of due to age. They announced they are selling their house but promised to make an imprint on the town before leaving and warned town officials not to come to their house.
Resident Alleges Pattern of Harassment and Abuse of Authority by Police
During the final public comment section, a resident, Robert Lane, made serious allegations of harassment, defamation, discriminatory targeting, retaliation, and abuse of authority by members of the Vestal Police Department, specifically Sergeant Scott Mullins, and associated individuals. He claims false accusations and arrests have caused severe harm, and that despite dismissals of charges, the harassment has escalated. He detailed instances of alleged coordinated campaigns and improper contact with businesses and employers. He threatened legal action if the town does not address the issues within 30 days.
