Merida Subdivision Replat Approved, Creating Two Single-Family Lots on Floralia Drive
The city council approved the replat of lot 6, block one, Merida subdivision, located at 9911 Floralia Drive. The property, which is over 21,000 square feet and zoned R1, will be divided into two lots. One lot will be 11,120 sq ft and the second will be 10,880 sq ft. Both meet the minimum lot size requirements for the R1 single-family zone, allowing for the construction of a single-family home on each. The planning and zoning commission had unanimously recommended approval.
Makadoo Acres Replat Approved, Allowing for Two Single-Family Lots
The council approved the replat of lot one, block two, Makadoo Acres, located at 11260 Russ Road, allowing for the division of the property into two lots. Both new lots meet the minimum 10,000 square feet requirement for an R1 single-family residential zone. The property owner plans to build a second dwelling, which must adhere to R1 zoning and guidelines, including restrictions on the age and type of mobile homes if used. One council member opposed the replat due to concerns about potential future densification, such as duplexes or apartments, if the zoning were to change.
Bettis Subdivision Final Plat Approved for Residential Development
The council approved the final plat for Bettis subdivision, located at 321 FE Jackson Road. This final plat covers all of tract 17B2 and a portion of tract 17 C1D1. The property, under 3 acres and zoned R1 single family residential, will accommodate residential development. The platting includes dedicating a portion of Perlet Street to the city for access to five lots at the rear, which will have access off Perlet. The preliminary plat had been approved by the city council in May. The planning and zoning commission recommended approval.

The parade is scheduled for Thursday, August 26, 2026, starting at 6 p.m. The route will begin at Esquas Elementary and conclude at Sakoro High School. The city staff recommended approval of the permit and fee waiver.
