He highlighted the successful functionality of recently built retention ponds around Bonita, which prevented mud, debris, and ash from entering the lake during heavy runoff, commending the public utilities and public works departments. He also clarified that all correspondence from city staff to commissioners is open for public sharing to ensure maximum transparency, with only a few exceptions for confidential matters.

Call for Restorative Justice and Accountability in City Governance

Kim Murillo spoke about restorative justice, truth, accountability, and amends concerning a perceived protocol breach and a past contract involving Robert Stockwell and Dr. Hernandez. She alleged retaliation against a constituent who spoke about the hiring process and urged the commission to reverse retaliation, forgive uncollected funds, and apologize. She suggested that commissioners who prioritize personal will over public trust should consider stepping aside and asked Mr. Stockwell to commit to openness and make amends.
