Fiser Lift Station Annexation Ordinance Approved
The council approved the annexation of approximately 0.51 acres for the Fiser Lift Station and amended the official zoning map accordingly. The property is located at the northwest corner of North Howell Road and West Fiser Avenue.
Mullen Avenue Annexation and Development Agreement Approved with Multi-Family Cap
The council addressed the Mullen Avenue annexation and development agreement. After previous discussions and directed staff to find a zone amendable to the applicant that does not permit anything other than 100% R3 residential by special use permit. The Community Commercial Mix (CCM) zone was identified as the most suitable, allowing up to 50% multi-family use, which was capped in the development agreement. This zoning and agreement were approved, resolving previous disagreements about multi-family restrictions.
Historical Society Advocates for Chapen Building Preservation
Kim Brown, representing the Post Falls Historical Society, spoke about the Chapen Building, urging its preservation and inclusion in long-range facility planning. She highlighted the building's historical significance, past uses, and the society's commitment through an RFP they submitted. Chris King, president of the Historical Society, shared an anecdote about the museum's value in creating memories and stressed the society's investments in the building's maintenance and operation, refuting claims of structural issues and stating the building is structurally sound. Both speakers advocated for collaboration and preserving local history.
Powder Horn Vacation Ordinance for Utility Easement Approved
The council approved an ordinance for the partial vacation of a utility easement on Lot 2, Block 4 of Pioneer Ridge. The easement is located on the southernly 10 feet of the lot. The property is in the southwest quarter of section 27, Township 51 North, Range 5 West, Boise Meridian.
