The negotiated franchise fee is high, placing Verizon competitively with the existing provider and offering residents greater choice and improved internet connectivity. Verizon will also provide a $15,000 grant. The agreement was reviewed and approved by the New York State Public Service Commission. The board confirmed the agreement would not affect existing providers. No members of the public commented during the hearing. The board approved the agreement.
