Ottawa City Council Approves Motor Fuel Tax Funds, Public Alerting System, Pavement Program, and Various Departmental Fees

The council approved a resolution appropriating $715 worth of motor fuel tax funds. They also accepted a quote from Everbridge in the amount of $6,190.30 for the city's public alerting system, to be paid from the general corporate fund. Furthermore, the council accepted, approved, and authorized payment from the general corporate fund for the 2026 Cape Seal program with AC Pavement Striping Company in the amount of $44,595.23. The report of the registrar for May 2026 showed $2,18 collected in fees for certified copies of birth and death certificates. The report of the parking and adjudication fines department for May 2026 was also received and placed on file. The building official's report for May detailed permit and license fees collected totaling $8,500, including fees for building permits, flood plane development permits, pool permits, fence permits, new business registrations, contractor licenses, and electrical permits. Finally, the council accepted, approved, and authorized payment from the general corporate fund for a sidewalk program totaling $3,429.63 for May 2026.
