Town Approves Sale and Development of Providence Road Property for Senior Housing and Park
The Board of Selectmen discussed and voted to approve the disposition of town property located at Providence Road, identified as assessor map 14, parcel 17 (22 acres). This followed a Request for Proposals (RFP) process initiated after authorization at the 2025 fall annual town meeting (Article 8). BKR Realty Development, LLC was the sole respondent, offering $100,000. Their proposal includes developing approximately 5 acres for senior housing and dedicating the remainder to a municipal park with amenities such as a playground, pavilion, walking trails, and sport courts. The development also aligns with the town's housing production plan and open space initiatives. The sale is contingent upon a land development agreement and securing local approvals. The project, named 'Pot View Commons', is estimated to be completed within five to six years, with MEPA review starting first.
