Orleans Parish School Board Committee Reviews School Updates and Accountability Frameworks

The Orleans Parish School Board Accountability and Charters Committee reviewed and adopted the minutes from their May 19th, 2026 meeting. They also received updates on school support initiatives, including spending increases and the placement of education graduates. A presentation on the Leah Chase School highlighted student academic progress, attendance rates, and family engagement efforts throughout the 2025-2026 school year. Additionally, the committee discussed the District-Run School Accountability Framework (DSAF), a system designed to evaluate the performance, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement of district-operated schools. The DSAF includes four performance domains: student achievement and growth, student experience, school operations and leadership, and central office support and responsiveness. The committee also moved to approve the revised transitional charter school accountability framework (CSAF), with a discussion regarding its integration with potential future policies related to HB 1003 and district optimization.
