An ordinance amending Chapter 7 of the revised general ordinances of the Borough of New Milford concerning traffic and various personal transportation devices, including bicycles, scooters, skateboards, electric motorized bicycles, low-speed electric bicycles, low-speed electric scooters, low-speed vehicles, motorized bicycles, motorized scooters, motorized skateboards, and other motorized personal transportation devices was introduced. The ordinance aims to update regulations to align with state law and establish guidelines for the operation of these devices to ensure the safety of riders, motorists, and pedestrians, emphasizing education over penalization. A public hearing for this ordinance is scheduled for the June 8th meeting.
