Mil Creek School Board Re-evaluates Board Management Software Amidst Vendor Changes
The school board discussed a unique situation with their board management software, Board Docs, which is being acquired by Diligent. The Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA) will no longer partner with Board Docs and is developing its own platform, Keystone Agenda. The board is evaluating whether to continue with Board Docs, transition to Keystone Agenda, or explore other options. Due to a lack of information and comparison with Keystone Agenda, the current suggestion is to remain with Board Docs for another year while monitoring the transition of other districts and the development of Keystone Agenda. The board also discussed the associated costs and potential fee increases.
Mil Creek School District Approves 2026-2027 Budget with 4.3% Tax Increase
The Mil Creek Township School District Board of Directors approved the final general fund budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, which includes a 4.3% tax increase. The approved budget projects revenues and expenses, sets tax rates, and details the adoption of taxes including real estate, earned income, real estate transfer, occupational privilege, local services, and mechanical device taxes. Reductions were made to address a structural deficit, primarily impacting equipment, IT, maintenance, athletics, and building furniture. The board also approved motions related to year-end closing, financial reports, and various agreements and reports, including engineer agreements, title one service agreements, and subscription services.
