City Council Approves Pension Plan Revisions, Delays 36th Street Election, and Plans Centennial Celebration Road Closures

The city council discussed and approved the first reading of an ordinance to revise the employees retirement system and police and fire pension plan. The revision allows general employees and police/fire members to purchase permissive service credit, up to five years. Additionally, the council approved a temporary full circle road closure for the city's centennial celebration on August 22nd, which will include the unveiling of the Glenn Curtis statue, music, amusement rides, and vendors.
