Freedom Fireworks Temporary Use Approved with Modified Conditions
The planning commission discussed and approved a minor request for temporary use approval for Freedom Fireworks to allow for a fireworks sale tent. This temporary use will be located in the vacant lot at 10401 North Cedarberg Road and will operate from June 25th through July 5th. Concerns were raised by a resident regarding traffic safety due to the intersection redesign and potential for increased crime. Staff addressed these concerns by noting that access would be restricted to Danis Bay Road, with the Cedarberg Road entrance blocked off. The applicant will also provide an additional employee for traffic facilitation and ensure the tent and fireworks are secured at night. The commission also considered and modified conditions regarding additional signage and the removal of a porta-potty requirement.
