Guaranteed Maximum Price and Early Notice to Proceed Approved for Downtown Conference Center Construction
Resolution 2026-20 was adopted, approving Amendment Number Four to the design-build agreement with Mac and Gordon, establishing the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the downtown conference center project. The total GMP is $119.7 million, which includes design fees, pre-construction services, construction of a model room, garage demolition, and the hotel construction. A limited early notice to proceed for $3.9 million was also approved, funded through the conference center fund prior to bond closing. The construction schedule anticipates substantial completion by October 2028.
City to Conduct Compensation Study with PayPoint HR Following Council Approval
Resolution 2026-16 was adopted, authorizing the City Administrator to execute an agreement with PayPoint HR to complete a position classification and compensation study. PayPoint HR was chosen from 11 bids as the consensus winner, despite not being the lowest cost, due to the quality of their bid and assurances of good work. The last study was conducted in 2022. The study is needed due to significant changes in compensation within industry and government over the last six years, impacting the city's ability to fill positions.
