El Monte Police Department Recognizes Officers for Outstanding Auto Theft Recoveries
During the El Monte Police Department's recognition for auto theft recoveries, Detective Sergeant Andrew Abila, Detective Dennis Chu, and Gang Detective Ral Vega were honored for their exceptional efforts. Collectively, these officers were responsible for approximately 184 stolen vehicle recoveries and 133 suspect arrests. Sergeant Abila recovered 18 vehicles and made 18 arrests, Detective Chu recovered 68 vehicles and arrested 42 suspects, and Detective Vega recovered 98 vehicles and arrested 73 suspects.
Arroyo High School Softball Team Makes History with CIF Finals Appearance
The City Council recognized the Arroyo High School varsity softball team for making it to the CIF finals, a first in the team's history. The team, an 11-game winning streak, is set to play the Irvine Vaqueros.
