Conditional Use Hearing Held for Weston Solutions Campus Redevelopment
The board opened and closed a public hearing for a conditional use application for the redevelopment of the former Weston Solutions office campus for residential use. The applicant, Weston Way Partners II Incorporated, seeks approval for 49 new single-family homes, with the historic Moorestein Mansion to be converted into a maximum of six apartments. The plan includes preserving the mansion, relocating the Moorstein train station, preserving the gatehouse and gateposts, and designating 21.67 acres as open space. The applicant agreed to conditions recommended by the Planning Commission and the Historical Commission, including exploring repurposing of demolition materials, installing interpretive panels, and photographic documentation. The board ultimately continued the hearing to a later date to allow for a written decision and findings of fact.
Chester County Hazard Mitigation Plan Adopted by Township
The board approved Resolution 2026-31, adopting the revised Chester County Hazard Mitigation Plan. The plan is an update from the 2020 version. The township had submitted its own corrections to the county's plan, primarily concerning addresses and contact information. An executive summary of changes was expected the following week.
Police Department Secures Grant for Underage Drinking Enforcement; Chief Benton Concludes Service
Officer Delaney applied for a $15,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Control Board to combat underage drinking, which will also support DUI enforcement. Chief Benton concluded six years of service with the department. Wyatt successfully applied for recertification of the PA sustainable gold level.
