Update on Towalton Sherwood and Boone Ferry Road Intersection Project Highlights Challenges and Alternatives
The presentation provided an update on the Towalton Sherwood Road and Boone Ferry Road intersection project, detailing existing conditions, traffic analysis, crash data, and community engagement efforts. Key recommendations from the consultant KDson Associates were that raising or lowering the railroad is not feasible due to cost and flood plain issues, respectively. The project team is now focusing on evaluating alternatives such as a grade-separated overpass or at-grade improvements with technological solutions. The next steps include community engagement through a design charrette on June 2nd and continued evaluation of alternatives, with a potential timeline of at least 10 years for major construction.
