Council Addresses Widespread Power Outages and DTE Response

The council discussed the significant power outages experienced over the summer festival weekend, which impacted thousands of residents. The Mayor communicated with DTE, and restorations were underway, with full restoration expected by the evening. Frustration was expressed regarding DTE's lengthy restoration times and their impact on residents, including loss of food, medicine, and wages. The council emphasized the need for more work to be done to address power dynamics statewide and ensure unacceptable service is not repeated.
