Southgate Approves Contract Amendment with Great Lakes Water Authority
The city council reviewed and approved Amendment Number Five to the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) service contract. This quadrennial review allows for adjustments to the maximum day and peak hour demand values. FireCat Selected for Annual Fire Hose Testing
The city council approved a contract with FireCat Precision Service Testing for the annual testing of the fire hose inventory. This decision to use a third-party vendor was made due to a substantially greater inventory of fire hose, acquired through grants, making in-house testing difficult. FireCat is a trusted, certified local company also used by other municipalities. The contract is not to exceed $5,000, with funds available in the fire department budget. [cite: 262-280, 1082-1102]
