Tinton Falls Seeks County Grant for Walls Park Improvements

The county allocates $6 million annually for park improvements, with a maximum grant award of $500,000, requiring a 50% match from the borough. The grant favors new development over maintenance. The borough has previously received grants for various park projects. The current application is for improvements to Walls Park, which has seen a significant cost increase due to stormwater requirements. The project will be phased, with Phase 1 including parking, restrooms, utilities, playground, lighting, and stormwater facilities, and Phase 2 focusing on a multi-use trail and fishing platform. The total estimated cost for Phase 2 is $696,000, and they are requesting the maximum $500,000 grant.
Mayor Updates on Community Events, Storm Recovery, and Camp Opening
Mayor Clay provided an update on various community events and initiatives.
