City Council Approves FY 2025-2026 Budget Amendments

Southside Awarded $65,000 in Grants for Fire Department and Road Maintenance
The City of Southside has been awarded three grants totaling $65,000. These funds include $25,000 for the fire department to purchase large-diameter hose, $25,000 towards the replacement of handheld radios for the fire department, and $20,000 for a new John Deere cutter for road maintenance. The council authorized the spending of these funds.
City Approves Agreement for Additional Parking Near Southside Pharmacy
The City Council approved an agreement with Johnson's to create additional parking, specifically authorizing the mayor to execute a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for this project. Plans for the Southside Pharmacy, which will benefit from this parking expansion, are underway and expected to start soon, with the new pharmacy projected to open in approximately six months.
