City of South Fulton Prepares 5-Year CDBG Consolidated Plan Focusing on Housing, Public Improvements, and Economic Development
The city of South Fulton is preparing its 5-year (2026-2030) Consolidated Plan and 2026 Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The plan will outline how the city intends to spend its CDBG funds, which are approximately $563,496 annually, and will also serve as the application for these funds. The process includes public participation, needs assessment for low- and moderate-income residents, market analysis, and strategic planning. The current proposed plan prioritizes public improvements (especially sidewalk improvements), economic development (job creation), and affordable housing (rehab programs and new construction). Previous CDBG funds also allocated funds for playground improvements at Crew Park and Old National Park, and senior homeowner rehabilitation.
