Perkiomen Valley 250 Consortium Seeks Municipal Partnership for Revolutionary War Anniversary Initiatives
Lisa Manardi, Executive Director of Historic Track, presented on behalf of the Perkiomen Valley 250 (PV250) consortium, which aims to coordinate marketing and branding for the 250th anniversary of the Revolutionary War in the region, extending through 2027-2028. The initiative seeks to leverage local history for economic development, engagement, and civic pride. Historic Track serves as the fiduciary sponsor, operating three museums and having professional staff. PV250 plans include creating a master calendar of events, marketing materials (rack cards, website, social media), offering free/discounted admission to municipal partner residents, and providing programming support to other organizations. Signature events include a Flag Day fundraiser gala and participation in the 'Houses of Decoration' project. They are also developing traveling trunk programs, story trails, and lecture series. The presentation outlined sponsorship levels for municipalities and non-profit partners, emphasizing the benefits of free admission and program amplification. Skipback Township is considering joining as a sponsor.
