Resident Raises Concerns Over Unaddressed Development Site; City Responds

During the public comment period, Trina Osborne of Wright Cliff expressed significant concerns about a development that began three years prior near Wright Cliff City Park. She described an abandoned construction site with a deep retention pond (at least 6 ft deep), a severe mosquito infestation, and debris that was burned, left smoldering, and unaddressed for years. Osborne stated she made numerous calls to city hall and the health department with no response until she posted on Facebook. She questioned if the city would wait for an accident before taking action. Councilmember Asmir Protic responded, acknowledging the issue and stating that the property is now being filled in, but expressed concern about the lack of prior awareness among council members and the reliance on social media for issue resolution. Mayor Duvall arrived later and stated he had been dealing with storm-related emergencies and would follow up with Osborne.
