Monta Water District Approves Revised Fee Schedule, Budget, and Employee Cost of Living Adjustments

The Monta Water District Board of Directors held a public hearing to review and potentially adopt a revised master fee schedule for fiscal year 2026-27. The schedule includes updated water and sewer connection charges, sewer service charges, water rates, and water system reliability charges. Sewer service charges are increasing from $33.43 to $34.43 per month. Monthly water service charges for a standard 5/8 meter will increase to $36.73. Tier one water consumption rates will rise from $10.29 to $10.60 per HCF. Water system reliability charges are increasing from $684.20 to $74.73. Connection charges and other construction-related fees, tied to the California cost of construction index, are decreasing by 0.51%. Other fees tied to staff time are increasing by 3.8%. A second public hearing was held to confirm reports on sewer service charges and water system reliability charges for fiscal year 2026-27, and delinquent collection charges for fiscal year 2025-26, to allow these charges to be placed on the county property tax rolls. The board also adopted the 2026-27 water and sewer budget and capital improvement programs, including a $2.44 million allocation for the force main project in Monta. Additionally, the board authorized a 3.8% cost of living increase for all non-exempt employees and the district clerk/administrative services manager, effective July 1, 2026.
