Township Approves Payments with One Abstention
The board approved payment of voucher number 47772 through voucher number 47811. Commissioner McHugh abstained from voting on this item as they were listed to receive payment. The motion passed with six votes in favor and one abstention.
Township Adopts Fee Schedule and Enforcement Code Amendments
The board considered two ordinances. Ordinance 2318, establishing a consolidated schedule of fees for permits, inspections, and use of township facilities, was adopted with a 7-0 vote. Ordinance 2321, amending existing code regarding enforcement and adding new sections on causes of action, was also adopted with a 7-0 vote.
Engineering Report: Mountain Ridge Estates Roads Paved by Developer
The Fire Officials' report and Community Development report had no questions or additions. Engineer Greyak had nothing to add to the engineering report. A question was raised regarding the paving of roads in the Mountain Ridge Estates, which was confirmed to be paid for by the developer. These roads are awaiting completion of a punch list before submission for dedication.
Township Disburses $39,250 to Volunteer Fire Department
The board approved the dispersal of $39,250.26 in 2025 fire tax monies to the Straw Pump Volunteer Fire Department. This amount represents 50% of funds withheld from the previous year. Discussion occurred regarding the condition of achieving an ISO rating, with assurances from management and the fire chief that the rating was expected to be a Class 5. The motion passed 7-0.
New Funds Established for Indian Lake Rehabilitation and Trail Study
The board approved opening two new funds with Somerset Trust Bank: an Indian Lake rehabilitation fund and a trolley line trail study fund. The township manager and board president are authorized signers for these accounts. The motion passed 7-0.
