Council Approves Purchase of Dell Server Rack for IT and Security Upgrades
The council discussed and approved the purchase of a Dell server rack for the IT and security systems at 219 East Main Street. The cost of the server rack was $1,445.19. The decision was made after clarifying the scope of work with IT consultants and security contractors, as the initial assumption was that the IT consultant would handle this aspect, but it was not part of their scope. The chosen fan-cooled unit was less expensive than the initially envisioned self-cooled unit, coming in at approximately 80% of the expected cost.
Council Approves Multiple Pay Applications for Infrastructure Projects, Addresses Cost Increases
The council approved several pay applications for ongoing projects. These included ICGM change order number one for AVIT and security rough-ins ($24,685), Real Services pay application number two ($197,791.63), Stelfor Mechanical HVAC pay application number three ($405), Stelcor Mechanical Plumbing pay application number three ($4,187.25), and ICGM pay applications number two and three ($67,216.50). For the AVIT and security rough-ins, the increase in cost was attributed to floor trenching and concrete cutting required for running pathways for security and IT systems, including electric door strikes and cameras. The ICGM project is reported to be approximately 90% complete.

The Mayor's report highlighted recent community initiatives, including the successful launch of the Sunday market in Mechanicsburg, run by Mosaic Events with support from the library. The market has seen hundreds of attendees and a growing number of vendors. Additionally, a second veterans' breakfast was held, drawing 20-25 veterans, with future breakfasts planned. A 'college knowledge' event is also being organized at the library to assist high school students with college applications and interview processes.
