Utility funds (water, wastewater, stormwater) all showed healthy operating income and cash reserves, though the transit fund has an unrestricted deficit net position of just under $500,000. Jansen noted that increasing costs are a trend to monitor during budget season.
Jainsville Police Chief Details Regulations and Enforcement Challenges for E-bikes, Scooters, and Motorbikes

The department is also addressing illegal minibikes by confiscating them and is researching varying ordinances from other jurisdictions to inform future policy.
Jainsville City Council Approves Compensation Amendment for Acting Interim City Manager
The City Council approved an amendment to the Independent Contractor Agreement (IPA) for Jay Shambo, the acting interim city manager. Jainsville Council Approves Ballot Question on Direct Legislation for GM Jadco Site Development
The City Council discussed and approved ballot language for a direct legislation petition regarding the GM Jadco sites. The approved language asks electors if proposed development agreements, projects, sales, and leases for these sites exceeding $450 million in project cost should be decided by a majority vote. The council moved to approve this referendum question and instructed the city clerk to include it on the November 3rd, 2026 general election ballot.
