East Peoria to Purchase Replacement Water Meters for $550,000
The East Peoria City Council approved Resolution number 2627-025 on first reading, authorizing the purchase of replacement water meters from Midwest Meter Inc. for the city's water department for the 2026-2027 fiscal year. The city plans to replace one quarter of its meters this year at a budgeted cost of $550,000, as current meters are reaching the end of their service life.
New Water Service Truck to be Outfitted by Local Company
The East Peoria City Council approved Resolution number 2627-015, authorizing and approving the upfitting of a new water service truck with a service body. The work will be performed by PAFCO truck bodies. This decision allows for the customization of a new city vehicle to meet operational needs.

East Peoria Council Addresses Water Main Repairs, Treatment Plant Upgrades, and Fleet Purchases
The East Peoria City Council approved several resolutions related to water and wastewater services. These include approving a contract renewal for laser fish software licensing, approving a contract with United Contractors Midwest for the Grange Road Improvement Project, authorizing the purchase of a new dump truck for the streets department, and authorizing payment for emergency water main repairs on Sabrina Drive. Additionally, a resolution was approved for the upfitting of a new water service truck, another for upgrading pumps at the Centennial Water Treatment Plant with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) to improve energy efficiency and reduce wear, and a third for a planning study for new water treatment plant groundwater development due to PFAS concerns. The council also approved the purchase of chemicals for water and wastewater treatment plants and the purchase of replacement water meters as they reach the end of their lifespan.
